2006 Dive Rescue Team Tryouts were held in August. We accepted Certified and Non-Certified applicants.  Five personnel attempted, but only four completed the requirements.

          All requirements were done:  back to back, no rest, no breaks, no mommies were allowed to hold their hands. The applicants hunkered down, trudged it out, stuck together, and encouraged each other to finish each segment.

The following tasks were given to the members pictured below, on August 23, 2006.

  1. 1 1/2 mile run
  2. 20 swat thrust / 20 crunches / 20 pushups
  3. 500 yd swim
  4. 25 yd underwater swim / return 25 yd diver tow
  5. 100 yd swim @ mask / snorkel / fins
  6. 15 min tread water
  7. Helmet Donning
  8. Psychological Evaluation
  9. Interview
  10. Medical Examination(if accepted)

Additional Tests Given To The Certified Divers

  1. Mask Clear
  2. Regulator Retrieval
  3. Neutral Buoyancy
  4. Equipment Doffing & Donning
  5. Buddy Breathing
  6. Buddy Breathing(no mask)
  7. Emergency Ascent
  8. Blind Search
  9. Written Scuba Review Examination
